It’s hard to contain my excitement here. Since I was a little pup and was still getting used to living in my forever home, I could only fall asleep when my mom or one of the mice read me my favorite book in the whole world!
The book is (drum roll…..) If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff. Whatever your age may be, this is a classic book. And I will always keep it as one of my treasured possessions. (In fact, it is right next to the book about me written by my mom Sassafrass Jones & Her Search for a Forever Home). Coincidence or not, they are both just great books for kids and adults.
But here is what has got my tail wagging and my tongue hanging out……the new book of what will be a series is about raising a puppy to become a service dog.
And, guess what organization has inspired her series? If you know anything about the Habersham Forest, then you know the answer.
Give up? Canine Companions For Independence. The nearest and dearest to our hearts. In fact, 100% of the book sales from my mom’s latest book, Sassafrass Jones & Her Forever Friends ABCs, goes directly to this organization.
It’s like we were meant to be. At least our books and maybe our moms are meant to be. In a “doing good” for the world sort of way. I just ordered my copy, with some help from my friends in the forest because it can be hard to type with little paws) and i can’t wait to read it this weekend with my mommy.
This is SO exciting! Thank you for sharing this. What a great story to read to the new generation.
